TEHRAN – Mehdi Karroubi, a 2009 presidential candidate who has been under house arrest for claiming vote rigging, has ended his hunger strike.
The 79-year-old cleric stopped eating on Wednesday morning and was taken to hospital on Thursday due to high blood pressure.
Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, the health minister and one of the officials who had visited him, said Karroubi was in good health.
